Vicki Davis's class looks very enjoyable. I see were her class and the style of her class in both very informative and realistic. I think having a class like early in high would be very helpful and useful later in life. I also like how she was improving their literacy by making they look up a word and learn it. That is a real life situation that happens everyday.
The only down side I see with this is that her classroom looked pretty expensive. She was using some expensive equipment that not everyone can afford so I think it would be hard to tailor or class to a school that did not have their budget. The concept and the plan for the class is all very good. Vicki really impressed me.

ReplyDeleteYou are correct, technology can be expensive. However, more and more the funds are becoming available to purchase technology. I happen to know of some school wide technology purchases even here in Mobile county that have taken place in just the past year. I think things are getting better. Ms. Davis is a great example of what is to come in education.
A couple of comments about your blog:
1. Each week you will have several things to view and write about. Your comments should all go in one post.
2. Your gadgets should be to one side instead of at the bottom.
3. Be sure you proof read your posts. I saw some things that I know you would have corrected if your had reread.

I can finally say that I agree with you 100% on this one. This video made my face light up with joy. The teacher and the students seemed very happy. I think there should be classrooms like this one all over.
